In the cup is everything we love about Yemeni coffee. Big flavours of rhubarb crumble and blueberry with a chewy toffee body.

We paid $15.87 per lb.* for this coffee which is 1033.6% more than the Fair Trade price and 837.2% more than the average C Price for 2021.

*This was the price paid to producers before any shipping, haulage, storage and export/import fees.

This microlot has been sourced through Mocha Mill, one of the first specialty coffee exporters in Yemen. They focus on working with local farmers to improve the quality of their coffees as this will get them a higher price for their crop.

The Processing

The coffee cherries in this microlot were washed and floated before being placed in sealed barrels for 120 hours to ferment anaerobically. The coffee was then transferred to be skin dried for 3 days before being shade dried in a purpose built warehouse where the humidity and temperature can be controlled. The coffee was dried for approximately 40 days in this way whilst being turned regularly.
